Who am I?

Hi, I’m Dave.

For the past thirteen years I have worked as an investment adviser, and more recently as a financial planner. Along the way, I have helped a couple of hundred families to better manage their affairs.

I’ve learnt a few things about how I think it should be done, and more than a few about how it shouldn’t.

I kind of fell into financial services by accident, and knew less than nothing when I started out. I know that a lot of the terminology used by the investment industry can be a little intimidating, because I can remember how I felt myself on day one.

I love writing about investing, and particularly enjoy trying to make complex topics simpler to understand. Writing is an outlet for me, to help me think, and as such The Money Den is not, and never will be, behind a paywall.

I now work for myself, and I’m not tied to any financial institution or investment product provider. You can be sure therefore, that for better or worse, these are my actual unvarnished views.
