They Ruined The Traitors
Why can't we have anything?
Be warned. If you have been watching series 3 of the “The Traitors”, and haven’t finished it yet - there are spoilers below. Although the BBC have done a decent job of spoiling it themselves, so…
The whole point of the game is that the group have no idea who amongst them is the Traitor. That is the whole point of the game. I think that we can agree on that.
Mystery, begets confusion, begets paranoia, begets snide comment at the Round Table.
It is a format that worked perfectly well for two series and five sixths of a third.
Then they ruined it.
When they sat in that production meeting and decided that they should introduce the concept of the “seer”, they ruined it.
I don’t know why they ruined it, but they ruined it.
When Frankie used her ‘seer’ power to pick Charlotte1 the game was over.
Because as soon as Frankie found out that Charlotte was a Traitor, they were both toast - one of them had to be a Traitor. The only logical thing to do for the rest of the group at that stage was to bin them both off.
And poor Alexander (hero) was never going to win because he sounded a bit too posh to be truly trustworthy.
So the final episode was effectively a procession. We were always going to be left with Jake and Leanne.
Leanne who had adopted a strategy of just shouting down anyone who dared question her Faithfulness, and pretending not to have been in the Army. Did you know she used to be in the Army?
As you can tell, this is all still a bit raw.
At this point I should probably try to tie this all back to finance somehow. I dunno, something about game theory maybe? Yeah, that’ll do - bit of game theory.
Or maybe this is a reminder that if something isn’t broken, then for goodness’ sake please leave. it. alone.
If we have a decent idea of what works, and what has always worked, then there is very little (no) value in trying to second guess that.
To do so, represents a big risk for very little return.
Have a great weekend.
In my opinion, the best contestant the show has ever had. Simultaneously brilliant at appearing to be lovely, while subtly slagging people off.

100% - it was obvious there could only be two left at the end…. The only logical conclusion!
